Walt Storey was born and raised in Warroad, MN.  One of 13 children and music was their evening entertainment.  They all played, sang and danced.  After graduating from college, Walt taught school for 31 years.  In 1981, he was chosen by his colleagues to be “Teacher of the Year” and ended up in the top 10 at state level.  Walt and his wife Judy of 53 years have three children and nine grandchildren.  Walt plays accordion and keyboard and is part of the “Hwy Ramblers” playing at various rest homes in northern Minnesota along with any town events, funerals and weddings. Walt is a piano player for the Norske Hostfest Accordion Club in Minot and adds “lots of life” to the accordion music.  Along with Walt’s talents, he has made two CDs with lots of good country, rock’n roll and gospel music.  The CDs were backed up by Dakota Rose Band of Minot.
